FIREBOY plus* Safety Bunsen Burner, Argos Technologies
This ergonomically designed safety Bunsen burner ignites a flame with a movement of the hand. It can be used independent of gas and electric supplies. Equipped with an integrated gas cartridge, the Bunsen burner has sufficient capacity for the sterilization of approximately 1,500 inoculation loops. Can also be connected to electricity and gas supplies or to a gas cylinder if required. Will not ignite accidentally since the infrared sensor has a clearly defined, limited range.
Three operational modes: sensor, foot switch, and continuous. The “sensor” mode allows you to pass your hand 6–8cm (2%num%1%/num%/%den%4%/den%–3%num%1%/num%/%den%4%/den%") over the sensor and the Bunsen burner will ignite automatically. It can also be set to extinguish itself automatically 3–12 seconds after ignition. In “foot switch” mode, the flame is ignited and extinguished by a simple foot switch. This enables individual ignition times with hands-free operation. In the “continuous” mode, the flame is ignited by pressing a button and remains so until extinguished. A safety timer is incorporated that switches off the instrument if it is not used (settable from 10–60 minutes).
An optical alarm warns for safety switch-off. Even if the instrument is connected to the mains, only 7.2 volts are used. Optional Windshield provides even flame and protection in a horizontal laminar flow cabinet. Optional Protection Dome can be employed for safety when using pathological materials.
