This ventilated work area is ideal as a weighing station, light-duty fume hood, science classroom workstation, solvent cleaning work bay, or for veterinary pathology and cytology. Even, inward airflow protects the operator and contains hazardous or noxious fumes, vapors, and fine powders.The deep 58.4cm (23") interior easily accommodates a variety of equipment including large balances. Glacier white and gray, dry powder epoxy-coated enclosures have a sturdy aluminum frame with 0.48cm (3/16") thick tempered safety glass top and side walls. The angled and hinged sash with 0.64cm (1/4") thick tempered safety glass swings up for easy loading and cleaning. The sash opening on the 57.8cm (223/4") high models is 20.3cm (8"); on the 81.3cm (32") high models the opening is 25.4cm (10"). The sash pivots upward and locks to a loading height of 50.8cm (20") on the 57.8cm (223/4") high models, and 74.3cm (291/4") on the 81.3cm (32") high models. The Clean-Sweep* airfoil allows air to sweep the work surface for maximum containment. Airflow openings pull air under the airfoil, creating a constant barrier of protection from contaminants. The upper containment sash foil bleeds air into the enclosure to direct contaminants away from the operator’s breathing zone. The perforated rear baffle promotes horizontal laminar airflow to maximize containment. Additional side-entry airfoils allow air to sweep across the interior glass surfaces to enhance containment. Two utility ports allow passage of tubing and cords. Enclosures feature 5.1x25.4cm (2x10") rectangular exhaust collars on the top and bottom for connection to ductwork or portable exhauster. Base stands are made of durable 4.4cm (13/4") thick, tubular, glacier white epoxy-coated steel. The height of base stands is fully adjustable from 70cm to 85cm (271/2 to 331/2") in 2.5cm (1") increments. Base stands come with either fixed, leveling feet for use on uneven floor surfaces or with four 12.7cm (5") non-marking casters. The black, chemical-resistant, solid epoxy work surfaces are contoured to fit the dimensions of the enclosure and dished to contain spills. Remote blowers 30153-980, 30153-982, and 82010-730 have a 1/4hp, totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC) standard motor capable of overcoming external static pressure loss of 0.75" H2O at 360cfm. Housing and wheel are made of corrosion-resistant, epoxy-coated steel. Blower inlet has an I.D. of 15.2cm (6"). Outlet dimensions are 10.8Wx18.7Lcm (41/4x73/8"). Applications involving high concentrations of solvents may require the explosion-proof blower (82010-730). All systems conform to ASHRAE 110-1995 standards.
