VWR Signature* Heated/Refrigerated Circulators
Ideal for direct immersion of samples as well as circulating temperature-controlled fluid. A bath drain is provided for easy cleanup with 13L (3.4gal.) and 28L (7.4gal.) models. Pulse width modulation and fuzzy logic technology make these circulators 50% more efficient than traditional circulating systems. Both the programmable and digital controllers feature a backlit full-graphics display with setpoint and actual temperatures displayed simultaneously. A powerful variable-speed pressure/suction pump and RS-232 interface are standard. The programmable controller also features a remote temperature probe capability as well as a full range of software for programming and data logging. The single knob encoder permits intuitive, simplified controller setup and operation. Both controllers provide readout in °C, °F, or user defined, and are equipped with low-liquid and adjustable over-temperature safety cutoffs. The 6L (1.6gal.) baths provide precise, stable temperature control down to –20°C (–4°F) and come in two formats. The small 21cm (8%num%1%/num%/%den%4%/den%") wide footprint format is ideal for conserving bench space, and the low-profile format is ideal for providing stability on shelves, carts, and the benchtop. Baths have a cooling capacity of 200W at 20°C (68°F), 140W at 0°C (32°F), and 100W at –10°C (14°F). Energy-efficient 13L (3.4gal.) baths combine high heat removal with a large reservoir and work with temperatures as low as –40°C (–40°F). Models 1157P and 1156D have a cooling capacity of 660W at 20°C (68°F), 480W at 0°C (32°F), and 100W at –30°C (–22°F). Models 1197P and 1196D have a cooling capacity of 680W at 20°C (68°F), 450W at 0°C (32°F), and 160W at –30°C (–22°F). The 28L (7.4gal.) baths are designed for immersing large numbers of samples. The large capacity reservoir helps compensate for unexpected heat load changes. The large bath opening allows convenient access and has a large work space on top. Baths have a cooling capacity of 700W at 20°C (68°F), 510W at 0°C (32°F), and 260W at –20°C (–4°F). The 120V models are CSA certified. The 240V models are CE approved. The general-purpose clear bath algicide is compatible with stainless steel and helps keep water baths clean, odor-free, and resistant to black algae. One 237mL (8oz.) bottle treats approximately 757L (200gal.). Supplied in a plastic dispenser bottle. Use the concentrated bath cleaner for cleaning and removing rust and minerals deposits from stainless steel and plastic baths. Bath cleaner comes in 473mL (16oz.) bottle; 29.6mL (1oz.) treats approximately 7.6L (2gal.). The high-temperature tubing is 0.9m (3') of flexible fluoropolymer resin-lined, stainless steel overbraid tubing with 6.4mm (%num%1%/num%/%den%4%/den%") NPT quick connects on both ends. For use at elevated temperatures. Maximum temperature: 300°C (572°F). The remote temperature probes permit point of control to be switched from inside circulator bath to a remote location, such as an open tank. Probes compensate for the heat losses through tubing between the circulator and control point. Feature platinum RTD sensor with 0.4dia.x15.2Lcm (%num%5%/num%/%den%32%/den%x6") stainless steel sheath. A 2.5cm (1") rubber coupling connects the sheath to the flexible cable. Cable ends in DB9 female plug. Probes are for use with circulators with programmable controllers. The Dynalene* HC 50 heat transfer fluid provides superior thermal stability for high or low temperatures. Fluid has a temperature range of –53 to 60°C (–63 to 140°F), a –56°C (–68.8°F) freezing point, and a viscosity (in centistokes) of 3.6 at 0°C (32°F) and 15.1 at –40°C (–40°F). Note: Heat transfer fluid is incompatible with Buna or natural rubber.
